In 2023, mortgage rates experienced a significant surge due to continuous increases in interest rates. A total of approximately 3.79 million homes were sold during this period, prompting an exploration of the specific locations where these transactions took place.

A recent Opendoor report has compiled data on the zip codes that witnessed the highest number of home purchases last year. While many of the top-performing neighborhoods were situated in Texas, there was also a noticeable influx of buyers in certain areas of Florida.

Among the top ten zip codes with the highest home sales, seven were located in Texas, including cities like Cypress, Katy, Forney, Aubrey, New Braunfels, San Antonio, and Fort Worth.

Further down the list, Florida cities began making their mark. The 12th hottest zip code of 2023 was Port St. Lucie, FL, followed by Winter Garden at the 15th spot. Davenport, FL secured the 16th position, and St. Augustine, FL, claimed the 19th hottest zip code.
